Our Latest Arrival
County Docs is excited to introduce Dr. Liam Portt and his wife, Andrea. Dr. Portt is the latest physician to join our physician group here in PEC and is already practicing in Wellington.
Dr. Portt and his wife moved to the County from Hanover, ON, where he completed a residency at Western University.
They enjoy hiking, cooking and walking their little dog along the Millenium Trail. Perhaps the most exciting news is that they expect their first child in February and look forward to raising their family in the County and all it offers.

Recruitment news
Highlights:
1. Another 250 PEC residents from Health Care Connect will be rostered with a family doctor by March 2025
2. County Docs has secured Base 31 as a new program partner
3. Dr. Nancekievill and Dr. Blanchard retired from their family practices in December. We wish them absolute best in this new chapter of their lives
The Health Care Connect premium continues to deliver results. Las month, we received confirmation that another premium was accessed, which means another 250 patients will be rostered with a family doctor within 90 days. With the 750 patients already rostered, and another 750 expected, this will bring the total to 1500 PEC residents being connected to a family doctor.
For those looking for the recruitment stats this past quarter, we connected with 5 new leads and are currently following 28 leads in total. We consider 4 of these to be high potential. We are hoping to welcome some new physicians to the team in 2025.
Frequently Asked Question
Q: I see many people are getting family doctors, but I’ve been waiting for a family doctor for years. How do I access care in the meantime?
A: Here are the top 3 things to do if you’re a PEC resident without a family doctor:
1. Sign up on the waitlist for a doctor by registering on Health Care Connect. Visit their website here
2. If you don’t have a family doctor and are a resident of PEC, you can access the Prince Edward Family Health Team’s Community Clinic. This is by appointment only and for problem-specific care. It is not a walk-in clinic. For more information on this, visit their website at www.princeedwardfht.com
3. If you are ever in need of emergency care, you can proceed to the Emergency Department at the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospitalist, or dial 911
