Since then, they have trained and practised in various parts of Scotland and England, most recently in Jersey in the Channel Islands. Having fallen in love with Canada, and Prince Edward County in particular, they are thrilled to make the County their new home alongside their daughter in the new year.

Recruitment news
By The Numbers - Q3 Highlights
- 2 new physicians recruited, expected to start in January 2027
- Engaged with 7 new physician leads and hosted 5 site visits
- Completed 2 recruitment events and actively following 22 leads
This quarter, we secured two new physicians, bringing different but equally valuable forms of physician support to the County. One physician will take over a permanent practice, while the other will provide long-term locum support, including support for their partner's practice.
Putting Our Numbers in Context
Physician recruitment doesn't always fit neatly into a single number. County Docs tracks several different stages and types of recruitment, from initial leads and site visits to physicians who commit to practising in the County. Those commitments can also take different forms, including permanent family practice roles, Emergency Department work and temporary or longer-term locum support.
This quarter, for example, two physicians were secured through County Docs. One will take over a permanent practice, while the other will provide long-term locum support. Both represent meaningful additions to physician capacity in Prince Edward County.
This is also why numbers reported at different times can sometimes appear different, depending on how those numbers are counted. For example, a previously reported figure of 11 recruited physicians included nine permanent physicians currently practising in the County, one incoming permanent physician and one physician recruited to support the Emergency Department. Emergency Department recruitment is not normally included in our physician recruitment totals, but was requested that time.
With the addition of the two physicians secured this past quarter, County Docs has now recruited 13 physicians through these efforts, 11 of whom are in or moving into permanent physician roles.
The takeaway is simple: context matters
